Iran Advances in New Missile Base Construction in Hormozgan Province

Satellite images confirm Iran is building a new missile base north of Bandar Abbas. Analysts believe its primary purpose is controlling the Strait of Hormuz and protecting assets through dispersal, not striking Israel.

Iran Advances in New Missile Base Construction in Hormozgan Province

High-resolution satellite images obtained by Total News Agency (TNA) from confidential sources confirm that Iran is advancing in the construction of a new base linked to its missile infrastructure in Hormozgan province, north of Bandar Abbas, in the strategic corridor connecting the Persian Gulf coast to the Strait of Hormuz. The construction of a new base in its immediate hinterland follows a logic of defensive strengthening and operational resilience in potential regional escalation scenarios. However, preliminary analyses agree on one central point: the range of missiles that could be deployed from this base is limited for directly impacting Israel. This data opens two non-exclusive hypotheses. On one hand, the base may be primarily oriented towards area denial missions and control of the Strait of Hormuz, a central axis of Iranian military doctrine against the United States and its allies. On the other hand, the site may be part of Iran's strategy of multiplying redundant facilities, intended to complicate preemptive attacks through dispersal, concealment, and the ability to quickly relocate assets. The new facility detected by TNA fits this pattern perfectly. According to the analysis conducted by TNA, the precise coordinates of the site are 27°25’29.5”N 56°17’14.4”E (27.424861°N, 56.287333°E in decimal format). The complex is in an advanced stage of development, with earthmoving, consolidated internal roads, leveled platforms, and structures compatible with logistics and military support facilities.
